The Las Vegas Raiders selected 11 players in the 2025 NFL Draft and were able to add some highly skilled players to the offense.
First-round pick Ashton Jeanty and second-round pick Jack Bech should have immediate impacts, and many are predicting Jeanty will win Rookie of the Year honors.
But what about the rest of the class? Were there any standouts who could also have a big impact, who might not be as well known?
ESPN NFL expert Matt Bowen gave his list of best rookie team fits and perfect landing spots, and according to Bowen, the Raiders got a good one in the third round.
Darien Porter Named Perfect Fit For Las Vegas Raiders

Heading into the NFL Draft, the Raiders two biggest needs were arguably the running back position and cornerback. They got their franchise running back with the 6th overall pick in Jeanty, and then they selected a very talented CB in the 3rd round in Darien Porter.
Bowen lists Porter as a perfect fit for the Raiders and defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.
“Porter has all the physical tools to develop into a big-time press corner. He is long at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds, and he can keep up with wide receivers using his 4.3 speed. But Porter’s success won’t be limited to man coverage. He can find the ball in zone, which fits under the core coverages of Raiders defensive coordinator, Patrick Graham.
In 2024, the Raiders played zone coverage on 65.2% of opponent dropbacks (eighth-highest rate in the league). Graham particularly leaned on Cover 3 and Cover 2, which is where Porter can produce due to his field vision and closing burst. He’ll shut down throwing windows and use his ball skills as a former receiver to finish plays. He had three interceptions last season.”
As it currently stands, the slotted starting corners are Jakorian Bennett and Eric Stokes, with Darnay Holmes in the slot. Porter will have ample opportunity to win the starting job or become a valuable rotational piece early on.

Porter finished with a 90.0 overall coverage grade, per PFF, so he has elite coverage skills. He will need to work on his tackling as he finished with a porous 54.3 tackling grade.
