The Las Vegas Raiders have undergone a significant transformation over the past few months. The offense? Unrecognizable. The defense? Likely to feel much different with Pete Carroll at the helm.
However, changes are expected to continue into training camp as the staff narrows down their final roster.
That said, plenty of players should feel more secure than others going into training camp. Here’s a look at the five most secure players.
Jakobi Meyers, WR

Jakobi Meyers was quietly a solid workhorse in 2024, amassing the greatest production of his career with 87 catches for 1,027 yards.
While he might not be the most secure player on the roster, he has to feel confident in the look of his resume coming into the year, which might do the work for him to get him through August.
Brock Bowers, TE

Brock Bowers turned heads, announcing his arrival in style in 2024. The tight end is heading into his sophomore season after reaching the Pro Bowl in his first season. He also earned 112 catches for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns.

Tom Brady might have another Rob Gronkowski-type figure on his side, and Bowers shouldn’t have to think twice about anything negative happening decision-wise from the staff this summer.
Ashton Jeanty, RB

Most have already labeled Ashton Jeanty as Pete Carroll’s Marshawn Lynch 2.0, and Lynch went the vast majority of his career without any risk of getting traded or cut by the Seattle Seahawks.
Of course, as a rookie, it’s hard to push projections from 99% to 100% safe, but Jeanty is one of the safest rookies in the entire 2025 NFL Draft.

Geno Smith, QB

The Raiders tied the knot preemptively this offseason, locking up the quarterback through 2027. While there are still questions about whether Smith will see out the full deal as he heads deeper into his mid-30s, he should feel safe going into the 2025 training camp.
It’s clear that Aidan O’Connell isn’t the franchise option long-term, so the Raiders are essentially all-in on Smith for better or worse.

2026 could be a different story, but Smith is quite likely to get through the 2025 summer intact.
Maxx Crosby, DE

The most reliable way to ensure oneself a spot through a training camp is to sign a mega deal in the offseason.
According to Spotrac, Crosby is now working under a $106.5 million contract with the Raiders that will take him into his 30s. The deal should be enough to get him through multiple training camps.
At this point, Crosby is arguably the face of the franchise, and it doesn’t get safer than that.
