The Los Angeles Rams entered the offseason with one clear goal for their offensive line: keep the core intact, build depth around it, and avoid the chaos that haunted them in previous injury-riddled years.
So far, mission (mostly) accomplished.
The Rams are betting on continuity up front to protect 37-year-old Matthew Stafford and keep the offense rolling in 2025.
The Los Angeles Rams Projected Starting Five: Familiar Faces Up Front
Assuming good health, the Rams are expected to roll out mostly the same starting five as last season:
LT Alaric Jackson, LG Steve Avila, C Coleman Shelton, RG Kevin Dotson, RT Rob Havenstein
Head coach Sean McVay emphasized this offseason that stability in the trenches was a top priority after fielding ~8 different line combinations in 2024. This group started multiple games together late last year and is viewed internally as a cohesive unit.
Kevin Dotson has quietly become the anchor of this line. After arriving via trade in 2023, he’s blossomed into one of the best run-blocking guards in football. PFF graded him as a top-10 guard last season, and the Rams locked him up long-term after he helped pave the way for Kyren Williams’ second straight 1,000-yard season.
On the right side, Dotson forms a powerful duo with Rob Havenstein, team captain and longest-tenured Ram. Havenstein turns 33 this season and is in a contract year, but when healthy, he remains one of the most dependable right tackles in the league.
Youth And Upside, If Healthy
Second-year guard Steve Avila flashed dominance as a rookie before injuries slowed him down. Center Coleman Shelton returns on a new deal but will face camp competition from second-year pro Beaux Limmer, who impressed in spot starts last season.

Then there’s Alaric Jackson. The Rams handed the 24-year-old left tackle a three-year extension this spring, signaling full trust in his future. He’s been a rock when on the field since 2022, but that’s the issue.
Jackson is once again dealing with blood clots, the same medical condition that ended his 2022 season early. NFL Network reported this week that the condition has resurfaced, and while the team remains hopeful he’ll return by camp, there’s real uncertainty about his status.
D.J. Humphries Signs On
Enter D.J. Humphries, the former Cardinals Pro Bowl tackle. Signed just this week, the 31-year-old brings 100 career starts and serious credibility to the room. He’ll slot in as swing tackle depth behind Jackson and Havenstein, though his health is a question mark too, after back-to-back seasons marred by ACL and hamstring injuries.
If Jackson can’t go early in the season, Humphries is the next man up at left tackle. Behind him are young tackles A.J. Arcuri, KT Leveston, and Warren McClendon Jr., all competing for developmental or reserve roles.
They also recently signed veteran David Quessenberry, who has plenty of starts at tackle throughout his career.
Quiet Battles Brewing
At center, the Los Angeles Rams will give Shelton the first-team reps, but Limmer and Dylan McMahon are very much in the mix. Limmer started as a rookie and held his own, especially in communication and protection calls.
Justin Dedich, an undrafted free agent from 2024, will back up Avila at left guard after beating out former third-round pick Logan Bruss last season.

There’s also Willie Lampkin, a scrappy C/G out of college who went undrafted but drew plenty of pre-draft interest. He’ll battle for a practice squad spot, along with fellow rookie interior linemen Wyatt Bowles and Ben Dooley.
Questions At The Edges, Confidence In The Core
This is one of the deepest and most balanced Rams offensive lines in years, on paper. There’s experience, youth, and scheme continuity. But all of that hinges on health, particularly with Jackson’s situation.
If Jackson is cleared, this could be the most stable OL unit Stafford has had since the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl run. If not, McVay and offensive line coach Ryan Wendell will have to get creative early.
The Rams have been burned before by assuming health up front. This time, they’re hoping a veteran reinforcement like Humphries doesn’t have to be more than that.
