The Los Angeles Rams are one of just 32 NFL teams. Mathematically speaking, the franchise should have a footprint of roughly 3% in the national conversation. In season two of Netflix’s “Quarterback” series, which is centered around players on other teams, the Rams seemingly would be left with hardly a mention, if any at all. In the opening minutes, the Rams were instead plastered across the screen several times.
It took Peyton Manning just 40 seconds to mention the Rams while reminding Joe Burrow of one of his most disappointing moments. Just seconds into the first episode, Manning claimed that while the goal for every player is to win the Super Bowl, goals are not enough, nodding at the Bengals star’s loss to the Rams in Super Bowl 56.
“This is the story of three quarterbacks who all started the 2024 NFL season with the same goal: hoisting a Lombardi Trophy. Of course, wanting it only gets you so far. Just ask Joe Burrow, who in his second year as a pro, fell three points shy of a Super Bowl title.”
The show displayed Aaron Donald’s clutch sack of Burrow in Super Bowl 56 as NFL announcer Kevin Harlan stated the final score:
“23-20. Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals.”
The Rams brought Burrow’s breakout season to a close one game after the Bengals quarterback delivered Patrick Mahomes one of his only two playoff losses, not delivered by Tom Brady.

It was Matthew Stafford’s first season with the team, and as it stands, his best thus far. Of course, his predecessor, who came over in the infamous blockbuster trade, still has frank thoughts about how things ended with the Rams.
Jared Goff’s Thoughts About Los Angeles Rams Exit Set Tone for 2025 Comparison
The Stafford-Goff trade from the Rams to the Detroit Lions was the story of the offseason when it happened, and even close to half a decade later, Goff claimed he felt betrayed in an episode of the show via FOX News.
“You feel like you’ve been betrayed, or like you’re not wanted,” said Goff. “And I think for me, ultimately it was the fact that there was not conversation had, and there wasn’t like a, ‘Hey we’re thinking of moving on’ type of thing.’ There was nothing.”

The exit gave birth to the Los Angeles Rams’ brightest season of the Sean McVay era, but it also lit a fire under Goff, helping to give the Lions arguably their greatest run in decades. All in all, the move was a rare one that worked out for both sides.
However, Goff is still chasing his first Super Bowl victory as Stafford eyes adding a second ring in 2025. Will the trade comparison receive a new wrinkle in 2025?
