Los Angeles Rams Look To Complete Bird Gauntlet This Season

The Los Angeles Rams face a unique challenge in 2025: seven games against bird teams. With a mix of contending and rebuilding teams, can LA do what no team in the league has yet to do? Let’s break it down.

Los Angeles Rams Face Every NFL “Bird” Team

Week 3 – at Eagles

The defending champs just keep reloading. The Los Angeles Rams’ front seven will be tested early. Philly dominated L.A. in two matchups last year by pounding the rock.

Unless the Rams’ rebuilt front proves otherwise, it could happen again. The Puka Nacua and Davante Adams duo is the path to victory in this game.

Matchups to Watch:

  • Poona Ford and Kobie Turner vs. Eagles’ interior line
  • Rams WRs vs. Philly’s young secondary
  • Saquon vs Rams run defense round 3

Week 6 – at Ravens

Baltimore’s ground game is violent and efficient. The Los Angeles Rams’ new-look defense will need to be gap sound, especially with Henry dragging defenders and Lamar freelancing.

The Ravens defense was one of the worst in the league against the pass and one of the best against the run last season, so expect a close shootout here.

Matchups to Watch:

  • Rams linebackers vs. Henry/Jackson combo
  • Stafford handling blitzes from Roquan and co.
  • Rams passing game vs revamped secondary

Weeks 11 & 16 – Seahawks

The Cooper Kupp revenge games. The Seahawks are going to try to get him the ball early and often.

Seattle’s QB situation is still murky with a questionable Sam Darnold, and the Rams should know Kupp’s tendencies better than anyone.

Matchups to Watch:

  • Rams DBs vs. Kupp and Jaxson Smith-Njigba
  • Young Rams pass rush vs. Seattle’s interior OL (Jared Verse vs everyone)
  • Poise from whichever Rams CB gets picked on

Weeks 14 & 18 – Cardinals

Arizona’s defense is getting better with Josh Sweat and Walter Nolen, but their offensive line is still shaky. Kyler and Marvin Harrison Jr. will connect, but the Rams should control the line of scrimmage.

Arizona is known to fizzle out later in the year, so the later they get them the better.

Matchups to Watch:

  • Byron Young vs. AZ Tackles
  • Cobie Durant vs. Harrison Jr.
  • Avila vs. Nolen in the trenches

Week 17 – at Falcons (MNF)

The Rams should go all out to stop Bijan Robinson and force QB Michael Penix Jr. into mistakes. As a full-time starter, pressuring the young QB is the path to victory.

Since the Los Angeles Rams own Atlanta’s first-round pick in the next draft, it’s crucial that they win this one to contribute to a better draft position next year.

Matchups to Watch:

  • Rams tackling Bijan in space
  • Stafford targeting CB2 opposite A.J. Terrell
  • Atlanta’s young pass rush vs Rams O-Line
  • Raheem Morris and Zac Robinson’s knowledge of the Rams
