As the NFL offseason heats up, Jalen Ramsey remains one of the league’s most prominent names on the trade block—and the Los Angeles Rams are still viewed as a top contender to land the All-Pro cornerback. While there is interest on both sides, no deal is imminent. However, that could soon change.
Jalen Ramsey Trade Timeline: Los Angeles Rams Remain Logical Landing Spot as June 1 Looms

According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, the Miami Dolphins are waiting for a key date: June 1. Trading Ramsey before then would saddle Miami with a massive $25 million cap hit, but that number drops to under $7 million if they wait until after June 1. “I expect him to get traded sometime in June or July,” Wolfe said. “They have talked to a lot of teams. I’m told the Dolphins are aware of teams that Ramsey would be interested in.”
The Rams, who haven’t addressed the cornerback position significantly this offseason, are widely seen as a natural destination. Ramsey, who helped lead Los Angeles to a Super Bowl, remains highly respected by head coach Sean McVay and GM Les Snead. A reunion would fill a glaring need in the Rams’ secondary, arguably the team’s weakest unit.
Despite assembling one of the most talented rosters this offseason, the Rams’ cornerback depth is thin. Adding Ramsey—who logged 60 tackles, 11 pass breakups, two interceptions, and a sack in 2024—would immediately elevate their defense. Miami, meanwhile, seems ready to move on after reported internal friction and Ramsey’s own trade request.
While talks remain quiet for now, expect momentum to build in June. If the Rams pull off the move, it could be the final piece that transforms a strong offseason into a championship-caliber one.
