Los Angeles Rams HC On Training Camp: ‘We’re Not Getting S**t Done’ In Maui

The NFL offseason is a time for reflection, roster moves, and preparation—but not every week is about grinding through film and drills. For the Los Angeles Rams, an upcoming trip to Hawai‘i is less about X’s and O’s and more about bonding and giving back.

Head coach Sean McVay made that perfectly clear with a self-aware jab at the team’s football productivity during the upcoming minicamp in Maui. “The first thing is, let’s not kid ourselves, we’re not getting s–t done football-wise,” McVay said with a laugh, acknowledging the true purpose behind the trip.

The Rams will hold their offseason minicamp from June 16 to June 19 on the island of Maui, with events centered at War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku. While there will be some on-field activities and chances for fans to see players up close, the tone of the week is expected to be far more relaxed and community-driven.

According to Rams president Kevin Demoff, the trip is about more than football. “We are thrilled to return to Hawaii and for the first time in the NFL bring Minicamp to Maui,” Demoff said in a statement. “Los Angeles and Hawaii share a special relationship and we are grateful to HTA for teaming with us for this historic partnership. Not only will this trip be a great opportunity for our players, coaches and their families to spend time together in a special setting, but also for our organization to celebrate and pour into youth football programs and players who call Maui home.”

With team-building, community outreach, and a bit of leisure on the itinerary, the Rams are clearly prioritizing culture and connection during this stretch of the offseason. Once they return to Los Angeles, the focus will shift to full preparation for the 2025 season—a campaign they hope ends in a deep playoff run. But for now, Maui offers a meaningful pause and a reminder that the offseason can be about more than just the playbook.
