Los Angeles Rams New Addition Gets Brutally Honest About Super Bowl Window

Davante Adams didn’t come to the Los Angeles Rams for distractions. He came for ball.

After a turbulent few years split between the Raiders and Jets, the All-Pro wideout sounds like a player finally at peace — and reenergized. “It’s just about ball. It’s no other BS,” Adams said this week. “And [they’ve] got a really good quarterback in here. Got a really good young team that shows a lot of promise… Just knowing how hungry this team is and seeing the work that they’re still putting in… confirms that I’m in the right place.”

“It’s Just About Ball”: Davante Adams Rejuvenated by Los Angeles Rams’ No-Nonsense Culture, Building Chemistry With Matthew Stafford

That “good quarterback” is Matthew Stafford, entering his 17th NFL season, and working with Adams for the first time. At 37 and 32 respectively, the duo is short on time — but long on purpose. Their offseason has been focused, intense, and deliberate as they attempt to build the kind of quarterback-receiver chemistry that typically takes years — in just a few months.

Head coach Sean McVay has taken a hands-off approach, letting two veterans lead the way. “What I think is really cool to be able to witness is the respect that you can feel they have for one another,” McVay said. “Matthew’s got such a great way of being able to connect and communicate, and it’s the same way with Davante. Sometimes it’s fun to just be a fly on the wall and hear their dialogue.”

Adams compared the Rams’ environment to a “college-type camaraderie,” a stark contrast from what he described as “a dark cloud” at past stops. If he and Stafford can lock in by September, the Rams might not just have found their WR1 — they may have reignited a championship window.
