Los Angeles Rams’ Schedule Drops Soon—But 1 Detail Already Raises Big Red Flags

As the NFL’s global footprint continues to grow, so too does the travel burden for its teams—especially those on the West Coast. Among the hardest hit in 2025 are the Los Angeles Rams, who are set to log 34,832 miles of travel this season—the second-most in the NFL behind only the Los Angeles Chargers (37,086 miles), per Bookies.com. The Chargers’ total includes a Week 1 opener in São Paulo, Brazil.

While the official game dates won’t be revealed until the full 2025 NFL schedule drops on Wednesday, May 14, the Rams already know their opponents, as dictated by the league’s rotating scheduling formula.

And regardless of the order, the road ahead looks particularly punishing.

Thanks to the 17-game format, NFC teams are slated for nine road games this season. That alone puts the Rams at a disadvantage. But their travel itinerary is even more daunting, featuring five cross-country trips, three divisional games, and one international flight.

That overseas matchup comes in Week 7, when LA will face the Jacksonville Jaguars at London’s Wembley Stadium—their first international game since 2019. The journey covers 5,440 miles each way, spans 11 hours of flight time, and requires adjusting to an eight-hour time zone difference. A Week 8 bye is likely to follow, which would mean the Rams would need to play 10 straight weeks to close out the regular season without a break.

The Rams’ road slate is stacked with tough competition. Head coach Sean McVay’s squad will return to the site of last season’s playoff exit with a rematch against the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. Other road games include visits to the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, and the Baltimore Ravens—each a physically demanding opponent.

Back home at SoFi Stadium, the Rams won’t find much relief. They’ll host three playoff teams from last year: the Houston Texans, Detroit Lions, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts round out the home schedule, along with their usual NFC West opponents—San Francisco, Seattle, and Arizona.

According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Rams are projected to have the 13th-toughest strength of schedule in the league and a win total over/under set at 9.5 games.

For McVay and the Rams, a season already loaded with logistical challenges could quickly become a physical and mental endurance test—with a playoff return hinging on how well they manage the grind.
