The Los Angeles Rams are gearing up for the next chapter in the Sean McVay saga, and while the team has reached sky-high peaks under the head coach, the question is what could happen in 2025.
The goal, of course, is to win as many games as possible and eventually hoist the Lombardi Trophy. However, there are plenty of questions surrounding the team in the buildup to that eventual goal. Here’s a look at the biggest questions for the team heading into 2025.
Is This Matthew Stafford’s Final Season?

This question likely won’t be answered publicly until the offseason. However, Matthew Stafford himself will know before anyone else. It might be a final bruise that makes him decide, or it could be the feeling after hitting a certain accomplishment this season.
All signs point to him playing out the season no matter what (barring injury), but if he decides this is his last rodeo, he will likely decide quietly as the bullets fly down the stretch. While fans likely won’t get the answer up front, they might get some heavy hints to the point that it will be almost assuredly guaranteed that Stafford will be on his way out after the season.

Peyton Manning heavily hinted that he might retire in his final season before officially calling it quits. Late in the season, all mics should be pointed at Stafford. Will they reveal something?
Will Kyren Williams Reverse His Fumble Troubles?

The Los Angeles Rams running back has the building blocks to be one of the best rushers in the NFL in 2025. However, he has a budding issue on his hands with an increase in the number of fumbles in recent years.
Williams had three fumbles in 2023 and nearly doubled that number with five in 2024. The statistic is trending up, and while the numbers aside from that are monumental, one fumble can undo much of that.
Will the running back reverse the trouble, or will it become clear that the Rams drafted Jarquez Hunter for big things?
Will The Los Angeles Rams Defense Get Back Into Super Bowl Form?
The Los Angeles Rams’ defense has left plenty of room for improvement in recent years. As Stafford continues to age, it has become more important than ever for the defense to help pick up the slack.
Of course, Stafford is still in great shape, but even a 1% slip can be the difference between wins and losses. If the defense doesn’t keep the opponent’s score low and give the Rams more chances on offense, no one can save them.

One only needs to look at the (arguably more extreme) plight of Joe Burrow in 2024, but the Rams find themselves in a similar situation with an offense loaded with quality pieces and a defense that finished 26th in average yards allowed per game.
Can The Rams Hold Off the NFC West for a Second Straight Year?
For all of the success that McVay has enjoyed in his tenure with the Rams, he has also been faced with a monumental struggle in the NFC West. Of course, the division is perennially tough as nails, with three different NFC West teams reaching the Super Bowl since 2014.
However, if McVay wins the division in 2025, it will be his second time finishing first in the division in back-to-back years since his first two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams in 2017 and 2018. Can he pull off the feat again?
