The Los Angeles Rams will have a very different roster in two months. Most of the changes will be due to shrinking the player lineup down to 53, but Les Snead has an opportunity to add some talent before training camp kicks off.
When it comes to free agency, the options are limited, but there are infinite trade opportunities. Here’s a look at three players the Rams could consider.
3 Trades The Los Angeles Rams Should Consider Before Training Camp
Luke Goedeke, OT, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Alaric Jackson’s status is uncertain going forward, leaving the Rams with a potential void at arguably the most important position on the offensive line. As the team’s left tackle, Jackson was tasked with protecting Matthew Stafford’s blind side.
Unless Snead makes a move, D.J. Humphries will be the default choice going forward, which carries its risks considering his shaky production in his most recent outing.
Trading for Luke Goedeke wouldn’t be cheap, but it would fix the offensive tackle spot for 2025 and give a solid extra foundation for the offensive line.

If Jackson calls it quits over his blood clot situation, the Rams would be covered long-term, as the tackle is just 26 years old. Goedeke is a right tackle for the Buccaneers, so he would need to be repurposed with the Rams as well.
The Rams didn’t hope to have to pull the trigger on a move like this, but they might not have a choice.
Jake Browning, QB, Cincinnati Bengals

Jake Browning has experience playing under Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, who learned under Sean McVay for two years. As such, the quarterback who beat expectations, going 4-3 in 2023 and leading the league in completion percentage in his albeit somewhat brief stint with the team, could work wonders for McVay.
Of course, this would be a move to position the team to be ready once the Stafford era eventually ends. Browning has enough upside that he could be a solution in the post-Stafford era while also being low-profile enough not to threaten the quarterback.

Parenthetically, Stafford is seemingly unthreatenable considering his backup has played in a Super Bowl within the last half-decade. The Bengals have also decided against pre-emptively extending Browning, who is going into his final season on his current deal per Spotrac, which opens the door to a potential deal.
Jalen Ramsey, CB, Miami Dolphins

Jalen Ramsey has plenty of experience playing for the Rams in his career, spending four years with the organization. The Rams won a Super Bowl during Ramsey’s tenure, making the case blatantly clear why they should consider a reunion. There has also already been a cacophony of rumors surrounding the potential move.
Of course, Ramsey has crossed the 30-year-old threshold, so nothing is guaranteed about his ability to remain at the same level he has played at in his career.

However, it is worth a roll of the dice to see if the franchise can get a version of the cornerback similar to the one who earned eight interceptions in his final two years with the Rams in 2021 and 2022.
The Rams finished 26th in average yards per game allowed on defense in 2024, so it’s clear they need a boost. Will it be in the form of a familiar face?
