With training camp about to start for the Los Angeles Chargers, the NFL season is just around the corner.
The Chargers had a lot of changes this offseason, both on offense and defense, so this year’s camp will be really interesting for the Chargers to see which players have the best chance of making the roster.
Here are some key positions to look forward to for some players competing for a spot on the Los Angeles Chargers this season.
Los Angeles Chargers Quarterback
Justin Herbert, Trey Lance, Taylor Heinicke
Trey Lance and Taylor Heinicke will be battling out at camp to see who will compete for the backup and 3rd string QB under Justin Herbert this upcoming season.
Trey Lance has the experience to prove in training camp that he should be the “guy” to back up Justin Herbert. Taylor Heinicke is going to end up as the third-string QB for the Chargers.
Wide Receiver
Ladd McConkey, Tre Harris, Mike Williams, Quentin Johnston, KeAndre Lambert-Smith, Jalen Reagor
For the Wide Receiver position, the 3 that fans will be looking forward to seeing are Mike Williams, who is back on the team, Ladd McConkey, and Quentin Johnson.
Mike Williams will provide the veteran experience and already has an established chemistry with Justin Herbert. However, at this point in his career, he is more of a situational receiver and will be used a lot in jump ball situations.

Ladd McConkey and Quentin Jonston will be the 1st and 2nd wide receiver options for the Los Angeles Chargers this season.
As for the defensive side, one position that will be a tough competition is the Defensive Line. Here’s the list who will be competing for the starting job for the DL on the Chargers this season.
Defensive Line (6)
Da’Shawn Hand, Teair Tart, Otito Ogbonnia, Naquan Jones, Jamaree Caldwell, Justin Eboigbe
Da’Shawn Hand and Naquan Jones, who are both new to the Los Angeles Chargers this season, will be the headliners competing for the top two spots along the defensive front.
Tart broke out a bit last season, and Ogbonnia will look to build on last season, where he played a full 17 games for the first time in his career.
The Chargers DL battle will be the most entertaining, with plenty of guys talented enough to make the team.
With training camp starting soon and preseason around the corner, coach Jim Harbaugh and the rest of the coaching staff will be making tough decisions over the next month and a half to see who will be starting and who will be cut.
