For months, the conversation around 5-star tight end Mark Bowman has centered around Texas and Georgia, but the USC Trojans have quietly been making their move in an attempt to keep the No. 1 tight end home.
Yesterday, we reported that USC was trending in the right direction for Bowman, and now, moments ago, Steve Wiltfong of On3 just put in an expert prediction that Mark Bowman will indeed commit to Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans.
“USC has quickly taken the pole position in the recruitment of Mark Bowman,” Wiltfong said. “From the love of the school, proximity, power of the alumni, NIL, and direction of the program, the Trojans are trending heavy for the coveted prospect.”

Just last night, Bowman was trending towards the Trojans, and then this morning, he gets an expert prediction. Shortly after the prediction came out, the USC Football X account posted this.

Is this an indication that they got a verbal from Bowman? Is this a subtle shot at Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning, who jumped into a pool with a recruit just to have him decommit 2 weeks later? Is it both?
Either way, this is a massive development for the USC Trojans. Chad Savage, Chad Bowden, and Lincoln Riley have been putting in the work for his recruitment, and they have been tirelessly working to establish the pipeline between USC and Southern California powerhouse Mater Dei.

They already have the commitments of two Monarchs in DL Tomuhini Topui and LB Shaun Scott. Will Mark Bowman be the third?
Based on what I have heard and the momentum around the news, I expect an announcement of a commitment coming very soon. The next question will be whether Bowman will shut his recruitment down.
As of this morning, he had six official visits planned, including USC. He took one last weekend to Ole Miss.
- Ole Miss – May 16
- Miami – May 30
- Texas – June 6
- Georgia – June 13
- USC Trojans – June 17
- Oregon – June 20
Based on the new policy that USC is instilling, if Bowman does indeed commit to the Trojans, that could mean shutting down his recruitment and cancelling any remaining visits, which would be huge for Lincoln Riley and USC.
We will wait until the official announcement happens, but all indications are that Mark Bowman will commit to the USC Trojans.
