Where Does 5-Star Safety Stand With USC Trojans After Recent Visit?

One of the top recruits whom the USC Trojans are pursuing just wrapped up an unofficial visit with the program. 5-Star safety Jett Washington was on campus during the week, and all indications are that it went well.

It was somewhat of an interesting visit considering it was mid-week and he was not with all of the other recruits who are currently in the midst of their official visits.

However, this allowed him to get the full attention of the staff and spend a lot of one-on-one time with the coaches.

Where Do USC Trojans Stand After Jett Washington Visit

Washington told On3, “I don’t think I will have time to come back, but they showed me how they plan on using me and that I can be a part of something special.”

His visit was originally reported as an official visit, but now it has been changed to unofficial, meaning that he could potentially get back to campus before the end of the month for one of the official weekends, if he has time, that is.

At 6’5, and 200 pounds, Washington has the ability to be special in the D’Anton Lynn defense. They will be able to use him all over the backend, and can even slide him down into the box with his size and speed. In a conference that has elite tight end play, he could be a true game changer in coverage of that position.

The Trojans were torched by Penn State’s Tyler Warren this year as they simply had no answer for him. Jett Washington could potentially be that Swiss Army knife who could help them in the future.

“What excites me about the Trojans is what their future looks like and what they are building,” Washington continued. They are definitely up there after this visit, and it checked a lot of boxes.”

For a while, Alabama has been the leader for Washington’s commitment, with Oregon on their heels. But the USC Trojans have been quietly in pursuit, building a solid foundation with him.

According to Tom Loy of 247 Sports, “USC believes that it firmly cemented itself as a legitimate contender in this race.”

Jett left campus yesterday and headed up to Eugene for his Oregon official visit this weekend. He will be with multiple other blue-chip prospects such as Brandon Arrington, Richard Wesley, Tyler Atkinson, and others.

We will see if this benefits Oregon or if the USC Trojans made a big enough impression while he was in Los Angeles.

Washington is the 3rd-ranked safety in the 2026 class, according to On3 Industry Rankings.
