The USC Trojans already have an extremely strong stable of cornerbacks in their No. 1 2026 recruiting class. Coach Doug Belk, Coach Travon Reed, and DC D’Anton Lynn have done a tremendous job building relationships with blue-chip prospects, and they continue to do so as they fill out the class.
Their commitments already include:
- RJ Sermons – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Ranked 3rd)
- Elbert Hill – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Ranked 4th)
- Brandon Lockhart – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Ranked 8th)
Both Joshua Holland and Madden Riordan are very talented 3-star DBs who could play corner and/or safety. We know that both Coach Lynn and Coach Belk love versatility, so that makes Holland and Riodan even more valuable than their star ranking suggests.
Where they end up slotting in could also depend on the commitment of 5-star, and No. 1 CB in the class, Brandon Arrington.
Arrington set his commitment date for July 5, and the USC Trojans are still firmly in the mix. The talented Southern California prospect spoke about his commitment with On3 and where things stand with the Trojans.
Brandon Arrington Gives USC Trojans Recruitment Update
Arrington took his first official visit last weekend, which took him out east to Penn State. All indications are that the visit went well, keeping the Nittany Lions in the race.
He is down to five schools, and has four more official visits scheduled:
- June 6 – Texas A&M
- June 13 – Alabama
- June 17 – USC Trojans
- June 20 – Oregon
When asked if there is a current leader, Arrington responded:
“It is going to be a foot race to the end. All five are up there now. Who recruits me the hardest, who gets me on the field early, and who I believe can develop me the best will get me.”
There is still a lot of time from now until July 5, so a ton of things can shift and change. As mentioned, USC is already stacked at the CB position, will that ultimately affect Arrington’s decision?
They are also still pursuing another in-state CB in Davon Benjamin, who is the 5th-ranked CB and just announced that he will be scheduling an official visit with SC.
In terms of his recruitment by USC, Arrington said:
“Since coach Belk saw me, he has recruited me hard. He is my guy. We talk a lot, he is a great coach, and that connection is big. Then USC is close to home, and they have a great class coming in, too. They are trying to build something.”
Arrington is also a world-class track athlete. The USC Trojans track and field team just won a National Title. Will that have any effect on his commitment decision?
Time will tell, but it sounds like it is going to come down to the wire.
