One of the most storied games in all of college football is the Battle for the Jeweled Shillelagh, which, of course, is the storied matchup between the USC Trojans and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Every year, these two teams meet, rotating home and away. When the teams face off in the LA Coliseum, the game is one of the final games of the season. When they play in South Bend, the game is typically around Fall Break, or the middle of October.
The date and time for this year’s game have officially been announced. The game will kick off on October 18th in South Bend at 4:30 PM PT and will air on NBC.
USC Trojans Vs Notre Dame Game Time Announced

The USC Trojans have lost the last two matchups against the Fighting Irish.
In 2023, it was an embarrassing drubbing in a rainy South Bend. Quarterback Caleb Williams played arguably the worst game of his college career, and the Men of Troy lost 48-20.
This past season showed a lot of promise, but ended in heartbreak. USC played drive for drive with the Fighting Irish for three and a half quarters. Starting QB Jayden Maiava drove the offense down late in the 4th quarter within range for a game-tying touchdown. He would throw a pick-six in the end zone, giving Notre Dame a two-touchdown lead. He would then drive the Trojans down again to attempt to bring the game closer, but again would throw a pick-six, ending hopes of a comeback.

The Trojans would get a touchdown at the end of regulation to make the score look a little better for a final of 49-35.
With all the excitement surrounding USC this offseason, they have to get back on track and end their two-game skid against ND.
The Fighting Irish made the College Football Championship game last season, ultimately losing to Ohio State, but they lost a ton of premier players, including their quarterback, and their GM, Chad Bowden, who helped build the roster, is now with the USC Trojans.
All eyes in the college football world will be tuned in on October 18th at 4:30 PM PT.
