The Legend Of Shohei Ohtani Grows, Hits Another Incredible Milestone

When it is all said and done, Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani may go down as the greatest baseball player of all time.

The Dodgers are still in “wait and see” mode when it comes to Ohtani making his pitching debut, but he has been out of this world with his bat.

During today’s game with the Cleveland Guardians, Ohtani hit his league-leading 20th home run.

Ohtani now has hit two more home runs than the 2nd place hitter. Here are the Top 5:

  • Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers (20)
  • Aaron Judge, Yankees (18)
  • Kyle Schwarber, Phillies (18)
  • Cal Raleigh, Mariners (17)
  • Corbin Carroll, Diamondbacks (15)
  • Eugenio Suárez, Diamondbacks (15)
  • Taylor Ward, Angels (15)

Last season, Ohtani made history by being the first player to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases. He finished with 54 total home runs.

He has now hit his 20th home run this season in just 53 games. If he stays on this pace, he will hit roughly 61 home runs this season, besting last year’s total.

Not to mention, during a bullpen session a few days ago, Ohtani topped out at 97 mph while facing live hitters.

We are witnessing one of the greatest athletes of our generation. Enjoy it, Dodger fans.
