We are just hours away from the highly anticipated World Series rematch between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees. Unfortunately, the Dodgers will be without one of their superstar players.
The team just released the lineup card, and starting shortstop Mookie Betts will not be playing tonight.

Mookie Betts Not In Los Angeles Dodgers Lineup Ahead Of Clash With New York Yankees
***Update After Page Break
There is no expected injury, but Betts perhaps tweaked something during warmups. Yesterday was an off day, and according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, Betts was on the lineup card in the clubhouse.
So this was likely a last-minute tweak/illness. Manager Dave Roberts should have an update ahead of the game.
Betts is batting .254 on the season with 8 home runs and 31 RBIs.
The lineup card is as follows:
- Shohei Ohtani, DH
- Teoscar Hernández, RF
- Will Smith, C
- Freddie Freeman, 1B
- Andy Pages, CF
- Tommy Edman, 2B
- Enrique Hernández, 3B
- Michael Conforto, LF
- Miguel Rojas, SS
- Tony Gonsolin, P
This is a breaking story, and we will update it with any new information regarding Mookie Betts.
There has been an update, and it appears that Betts did indeed suffer an injury. According to manager Dave Roberts, he stubbed his toe at home on Wednesday night. He will have X-rays to see if anything is broken, but for now is listed as day-to-day.
Mookie Betts stubbed his toe at home on Wednesday night, Dave Roberts said. Will be going for x-rays. Roberts said he’s “day to day,” but was in too much discomfort to play today.
