Los Angeles Dodgers Star Confirms He Crapped His Pants Mid-Game: “I Thought I Farted”

Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Enrique Hernández is known for his high-energy play, postseason heroics, and a good sense of humor. But even he likely didn’t expect to share this chapter of his career.

Appearing on Kevin Hart’s Cold As Balls podcast, Hernández, 33, revealed a now-viral, cringe-inducing story from the 2020 MLB playoffs: he accidentally soiled himself midgame.

“I had a root canal and they didn’t put a crown over it—it cracked and got infected,” Hernández explained. “My dentist gave me antibiotics and said, ‘It’ll clear up fast, but a side effect is diarrhea.’”

Hernández was serving as the designated hitter when Dodgers pitcher Dustin May struck someone out. “I went, ‘F— yeah!’ and thought I farted,” he said. “I go up the stairs to hit, walking a little… different. I’m trying to focus and lock in. I strike out in three pitches and let me tell you—I’ve never been happier to strike out in my life.”

Though he didn’t identify the specific game, Hernández had previously told a version of the story in a Red Sox social media video.

Despite the bathroom blunder, Hernández has built an exceptional postseason résumé. In 86 playoff games with the Dodgers, he’s hit .278 with 15 home runs and 35 RBIs, helping L.A. capture two World Series titles in the past five years.

This past postseason, he posted a .294/.357/.451 slash line with two home runs and six RBIs—outperforming his regular season .229 average.

Currently in his ninth season with the Dodgers, Hernández remains a fan favorite not just for his play, but also for moments like this that prove he’s willing to laugh at himself—even when it stinks.
