Dodgers Share Exciting Tyler Glasnow Injury Timeline Update

Tyler Glasnow appears to be nearing a return to the Los Angeles Dodgers‘ rotation, potentially as early as next week, following a three-start rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City. While the team has not circled a specific date, manager Dave Roberts said that getting Glasnow “back online next week at some point on the road” is a realistic expectation.

Glasnow, who has been sidelined since April 28 with right shoulder inflammation, threw 78 pitches in 4.1 innings during his most recent rehab outing. He allowed three runs on six hits while striking out eight and walking just one. More importantly, his velocity and command appeared sharp, a welcome sign for a team that has been short on healthy starters.

“It was good,” Roberts said. “Really, really good stuff. Positive day for Tyler.”

Glasnow began his rehab with two shakier outings, including a five-run effort in 2.1 innings during his second start. Still, the Dodgers were focused less on results and more on pitch quality, and Glasnow’s latest performance offered encouragement.

Prior to his injury, the 2024 All-Star posted a 4.50 ERA across five starts, though his underlying metrics remained solid with a 29.9% strikeout rate. The Dodgers are hoping he can build on those flashes of dominance, particularly after missing their entire 2024 postseason run with elbow tendinitis.

Glasnow remains on the 60-day injured list, so the Dodgers will need to make a corresponding move to add him back to the 40-man roster. With an off-day Thursday and a series in Milwaukee next week followed by a pivotal matchup against San Francisco, Glasnow could slot into the rotation as soon as July 11.

For a Dodgers team battling through injuries but still sitting atop the NL West, Glasnow’s return could not come at a better time.
