The Los Angeles Rams have clawed their way back from the brink of destruction. However, the wrong mindset at this point could put the team back into the doldrums and into a place they may never emerge from.
The most dangerous thing ahead is their upcoming “easy” road against two teams that are 4-13 combined this season.
Here’s a look at how things could go terribly wrong and why the team needs to maintain a sense of urgency.
Week 10 Los Angeles Rams Vs Dolphins
By getting back to .500 after tasting the bottom of the NFC, it might feel to fans and players alike that they have arrived. With an easy game on the schedule, the road ahead is easy, right? Wrong. The Dolphins might be 2-6, but they have Tua Tagovailoa back under center.
Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and a deceptively strong rushing attack could catch an overconfident Rams team at the wrong moment.

The game will take place on Monday Night Football, so there will be plenty of reason for the Dolphins to play hard, if for no other reason but to look good with potentially 31 other general managers watching.
If the Rams lose this game, the odds could be high for a slide in Week 11 as well.
Week 11 Los Angeles Rams At Patriots
Following a trap-game loss against the Miami Dolphins, the Rams will need to fly across the country on a short week to take on the New England Patriots in their building. During that roughly six-day transition, if the Rams are coming off a loss, Sean McVay will need to rebalance and retool his team in addition to the travel.
This could lead to the Rams stumbling into Foxborough to face a Jerod Mayo-led team with a head coach who might be coaching for the right to keep the team into 2025.
As such, with a Rams team either doubling back over their game plan or assuming that there was no way they could lose two games in a row, anything could happen.
This is why the Monday Night Football showdown against the Dolphins could be effectively worth two games. It falls on Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford to not be overconfident going into either affair, especially the primetime showdown against the Dolphins.
