The Los Angeles Rams have a brewing problem at wide receiver. While Puka Nacua’s arrival has been nothing short of clutch, Cooper Kupp’s future leaves questions about whether they need to go all-in on finding a replacement for him.
One such potential boost to the wide receiver room was at the 2025 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. Iowa State’s Jayden Higgins serves as one of the quality wide receiver options at the event, but his answer to whether the Rams have kicked the tires offers a clue to the team’s intentions. Speaking during the Senior Bowl media availability, Higgins was asked if the Rams had interviewed him.

LAFB: Have you interviewed with the Broncos or Rams?
Jayden Higgins: I have with the Broncos. Not the Rams, though.
The reason he was asked about two teams was to better gauge the overall sentiment from teams about the prospect. Higgins has received interest from at least one other team. However, the Rams were not that team.
As such, the answer says a lot.
Exploring why the Los Angeles Rams may not have reached out to Jayden Higgins

Put simply, there are a number of reasons why the Rams might not have reached out. On one hand, they could have intentions to interview him but simply have not gotten around to it. However, their hesitancy speaks volumes about the level of interest they have in him.
Of course, it could have been a scheduling issue, but Higgins’ response indicates that the Rams and Higgins have not had contact at all. If there was a scheduling issue, Higgins most likely would have at least volunteered to signal interest and raise urgency with other teams. He did not do this.
Higgins has logged just two seasons of work in college, according to Sports Reference. In those years, he logged an increase in his production from 2023 to 2024 from 53 catches for 983 yards and six touchdowns to 87 catches for 1183 yards and nine touchdowns.
The marked improvement is notable, especially in the number of catches from 2023 to 2024. In both years, he also played the same number of games (13).
Of course, with just two seasons under his belt, Higgins might be a tad raw. That could be the Rams’ reason for hesitancy. However, for the sake of thoroughness, Higgins has done enough to warrant some interest should he fall to the Rams for a bargain late-draft pick.
