Puka Nacua was questionable heading into the Los Angeles Rams game against the NFC West divisional rival, Seattle Seahawks. Nacua was able to start the game but will now watch the game from the locker room after being ejected for an apparent retaliatory punch.

Shortly before halftime, the Rams were attempting to drive down the field and pick up a score before the end of the second period. On a deep Matthew Stafford pass targeting Nacua along the right sideline, Seattle cornerback Riq Woolen picked off the ball. Woolen assumed he was not down and attempted to return the pick for extra yardage.

Meanwhile, Nacua was shoved by cornerback Tyrel Dodson and Nacua swung his arm at Dodson’s helmet. The action was immediately flagged and Nacua was ejected.

Nacua returned from injury just last week against the Minnesota Vikings. In this game, he caught one pass for 11 yards.

The penalty also advanced the ball from the 25, the spot of the interception, to the 40-yard line. With just 27 seconds remaining Geno Smith and the Seahawks’ offense drove to the Rams’ 24-yard line when Smith found wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the endzone.

The Rams trail the Seahawks 3-13 at halftime.
