New Reporting Suggest The Dodgers Won’t Keep Teoscar Hernandez

The Boston Red Sox remain in the hunt for the Los Angeles Dodgers‘ former and current outfielder Teoscar Hernández, according to MassLive.com’s Chris Cotillo. However, their pursuit faces stiff competition from the New York Yankees and Los Angeles (Cotillo). Additionally, Hernández’s market value could potentially rise depending on the outcome of Juan Soto’s free agency (Cotillo).

While reports suggest the Dodgers might be Hernández’s preferred destination (The Boston Globe’s Pete Abraham), the Red Sox haven’t conceded defeat and are positioning themselves as a legitimate contender for his services.

According to multiple sources, Teoscar Hernández has expressed a preference for remaining in LA. However, he is also intrigued by the prospect of playing for the Red Sox, particularly under the guidance of manager Alex Cora.

The decision ultimately hinges on the best offer, with both teams actively pursuing the talented outfielder. The latest report states that LA and Hernandez are close to a new deal, but the hold-up appears to be on the team’s side. Hernandez may be entertaining better offers.

The Red Sox, LA, and Yankees have been the top pursuers for Hernandez, and according to new reports, the Yankees may arrive late as a dark horse favorite. Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report suggested Hernández could land a five-year, $100 million contract with the New York Yankees.

This could be why the Dodgers decided to sign former New York Met and San Francisco Giant outfielder, Michael Conforto. The news of that signing surfaced shortly before the announcement that Juan Soto. Soto’s monumental signing should serve as the first domino to fall in the free agent market. Expect news of Hernandez’s signing to arrive post-haste.
