Teoscar Hernandez made it clear that he wanted to return to the Los Angeles Dodgers for the 2025 season. After a protracted negotiation, the two sides made it happen and no one is happier than the 32-year-old outfielder.

While there are plenty of things for a player to love about playing for the Dodgers, Hernandez recently mentioned two that prove to go deeper than some other reasons.

“Obviously, I’m 32 years old. These would be my last years as a player, not necessarily with this contract, but it’s getting closer,” Hernández said. “When you’re entering your 35 or 36 years, that’s just around the corner, as we say. It’s a team where I’ve played for practically half a year, and I felt super comfortable with the families. It was very important how they treat the relatives, and that made me want to return. That influenced a lot in the decision to return to the Dodgers.”

“…of course, a place where I feel comfortable doing my job. It’s about feeling confident enough to be myself, to practice, and to perform well. The Dodgers have always been the best in making me feel that way, which is why I chose to return to them.”

Hernández and his wife Jennifer have three sons.

Furthermore, Hernandez noted the fans’ involvement in one of the best statistical years of his career during his introductory press conference held on Friday.

“I appreciate since the first day I got here Dodgers fans, they were in there.. they were cheering for me. They were giving me the support that I needed to have the season that I had last year. Not only for me but for the whole team. And when you have that support, you just as a player… you think you have to give 110% every day.”
