For the first time since 2018, Dave Roberts and the Los Angeles Dodgers are on pace to win fewer than 100 games in a full season. But the Dodgers, who are on pace to win 96 games, aren’t far off. Yet, the Dodgers have also never had Shohei Ohtani before, and what many would argue is the best roster in MLB.
So, if the Dodgers are underachieving by some measures, does that mean Roberts, who is in his ninth season in LA, is in danger of losing his job?

Dave Roberts isn’t in danger of being fired from Los Angeles Dodgers
Speculation has led to some wondering if Dave Roberts is on the hot seat, especially if the Los Angeles Dodgers have another three-game sweep in the NLDS or worse.
Yet, Jon Heyman of The New York Post recently threw cold water on any talk of Roberts’ seat getting warm. In fact, he called such rumors “ridiculous.”
“Any notion Dodgers manager Dave Roberts could be in trouble seems ridiculous considering he’s not only won more regular-season games over the past seven years than anyone, he’s won more postseason games, too.”

Heyman agreed that the Dodgers are “probably the best team,” yet unknowns involving Tyler Glasnow and Clayton Kershaw don’t help. With no clear frontrunner, the hunt for October could be as wild as ever.
