Los Angeles Lakers Star Player Dealing With Troubling Injury

Los Angeles Lakers power forward Anthony Davis has been officially listed as questionable on the team’s injury report for Sunday’s game. This follows his previous status as probable for the Lakers’ Friday night matchup against the Nets, a designation that ultimately did not translate to game-time availability.

Davis has been managing plantar fasciitis since the offseason. While he has consistently monitored the condition throughout the season, the discomfort experienced during his pregame routine prior to the Lakers’ game against the Nets ultimately led to his decision to sit out the contest.

“He went through his pregame and had some soreness in that foot,” Redick said. “Out of an abundance of caution, we held him out.”

Plantar fasciitis is notoriously painful, the recovery can be lingering and unpredictable when it will flare up. The Lakers’ touch-and-go approach to the injury is to be expected. The telltale sign will be how he plays as the next game progresses. He may start, but may unexpectedly need extra rest.

Redick also mentioned that he expected Davis would be available against the Clippers.
