If there is one position on offense the Los Angeles Chargers need to be healthy right now it is at wide receiver. For the entire season, they have been without at least one pass catcher, and over the last several weeks they have had to rely on the practice squad to complete their roster at that spot.
Chargers Expecting Top Receiver To Play Vs. Saints

In a bit of good news for the Chargers, Ian Rapoport is reporting that rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey is expected to play against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, October 27th, at 1 pm PST.
McConkey appeared to suffer a hip injury vs. the Denver Broncos. In that game, he played the second-lowest snap shore of the season — 43 percent. The next week, he played his largest share, 86 percent. He was not limited in practice between those two weeks
McConkey has been Justin Herbert’s preferred target by a large margin. His 39 targets are 13 more than the next top receiver, Will Dissly. McConkey also leads in receptions and receiving yards, although those margins aren’t as dramatic. He leads Dissly by just three catches and fewer than 80 yards.

McConkey was drafted by the Charges with the second overall pick in the second round of the 2024 draft and traded up for the pleasure of doing so.
Joey Bosa, who is also listed as questionable, told reporters that he expects to play despite suffering from ‘the worst pain of his life’ due to a sciatic nerve issue.
Fellow WRs Quentin Johnston and Derius Davis are listed as doubtful and DJ Chark and tight end Hayden Hurst are questionable ahead of the game.
The Chargers activated wide receivers, Jaylen Johnson and former first-rounder Jalen Reagor to the active roster from the practice squad. Josh Palmer, Simi Fehoko, and rookie Brenden Rice round out the corps.
