Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Khalil Mack was unable to practice this week due to a groin injury and is now officially listed as questionable ahead of their matchup with the Tennessee Titans. In addition to that, Joey Bosa is yet again listed as questionable — he Bosa hasn’t played at full capacity since Week 2 dealing with a nagging hip injury.
Chargers Edge Injury Raises Larger Concerns
If Mack or Bosa is unable to go, they will rely on Bud Dupree to take on more snap share. Mack has been the only Chargers to log more than 25 pressures this year. His 29 pressures are ranked 28th among all defenders. As a team, they have the second-lowest pressure percentage in the league. Without Mack, the secondary will be under more stress.
To compound that concern, Kristian Fulton is doubtful to play — which means they will rely on AJ Finley and Dicaprio Bootle to lock down the secondary. The best-case scenario would be elevating midseason free agent addition Eli Apple. Rookies Cam Hart and Tarheeb Still have played well, but can the Chargers continue walking the tightrope — expecting high-level play from young inexperienced backups?
Denzel Perryman is also questionable for the game, but nickel defender, Ja’Sir Taylor will be active on game day.
Running back Gus Edwards made his comeback from the injured/reserve, but may not play against Tennesse. Starting right guard Trey Pipkins is also questionable to play in the game.
