Dobbins, the team’s leading rusher with 766 yards, will provide a much-needed boost to the Chargers’ offense, especially with Gus Edwards sidelined due to an ankle injury. His return adds a dynamic element to the Charger’s ground game and enhances their offensive potential heading into this crucial game.

The Chargers’ rushing attack has struggled significantly since Dobbins’ injury in Week 12, averaging a mere 76.4 yards per game, ranking last in the NFL. They are also 30th in EPA per play. Dobbins’ return is crucial, as he brings a much-needed spark to their ground game. With 766 rushing yards and eight touchdowns this season, he has the potential to surpass his career-best performance of 805 yards and nine touchdowns, achieved in his rookie season.

Dobbins’ career has been hampered by a series of unfortunate injuries. After a promising rookie season, he missed the entire 2021 campaign due to a knee injury and subsequently struggled with injuries in 2022 and 2023.

Despite these setbacks, Dobbins has shown flashes of brilliance. His reunion with former Baltimore Ravens and current offensive coordinator Greg Roman in Los Angeles resulted in a strong start to the 2024 season, earning him consideration for Comeback Player of the Year.

Now, after recovering from another injury, Dobbins has the opportunity to make a significant impact and help the Chargers secure a playoff berth.
