Both Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Cam Hart and linebacker Denzel Perryman have been ruled questionable to return for their Wild Card playoff game against the Houston Texans
The return of linebacker Denzel Perryman to the lineup proved to be short-lived. Perryman missed most of the last eight games due to that groin injury but spent most of the season on the injury report dealing with a toe and a shoulder injury. Despite entering the game with a questionable designation due to a groin injury, Perryman suffered an elbow injury in the first quarter, forcing him to exit the game.
Chargers Suffer Two Injuries On Defense

Rookie sixth-rounder, Hart injured his shoulder midway through the third quarter. The secondary entered the game significantly banged up. Both Alohi Gilman and Eli Apple returned this week to the active roster after stints on the injured reserve. Apple has yet to play in this game, listed as questionable beforehand. Asante Samuel, Ja’Sir Taylor, Marcus Maye, and Elijah Molden will miss the playoffs as they are still on the injured reserve.
Fellow sixth-round rookie, Taheeb Still as well as Deane Leonard have picked his snaps at cornerback.
Upon exiting the game due to the elbow injury, Perryman left the Chargers facing a critical juncture in the first quarter, with the score at 6-0. Backup linebackers Troy Dye and Junior Colson were subsequently called upon to fill the void in the team’s defensive lineup.
Perryman’s impact on the Chargers’ defense was evident in his limited playing time this season. Despite appearing in only 11 games due to injuries, he recorded 55 total tackles and one sack.
Hart has combined for 37 tackles and seven passes defended.
