Below is our Week 16 Waiver Wire Rankings for the top waiver adds at each position. I hope you are looking for the right pick up to help you win the championship, but whichever place your playing for, Sports Al Dente has the answers you need! So let’s dive into the wire for week 16!

Whisnant’s Week 16 Waiver Wire Rankings

Quarterback

  1. Blake Bortles

  2. Nick Foles

  3. Joe Flacco

Bortles must love this time of the year. He is 3-0 this month and has a great schedule ahead of him, and somehow is still only owned in 39.3% of leagues across the ESPN platform. The week 16 matchup against the 49ers may not be as easy as it was in the first half of the year but their defense is still a struggling one and can allow Bortles to keep his hot streak. The hopeful return of Leonard Fournette may take down Bortles’ ceiling a little but honestly, it just limits Bortles’ potential for turnovers.

Nick Foles leading the Eagles stressed fans out a lot more than it needed to. But it was much more of a defensive issue than it was an offensive issue. Foles threw for 4 touchdowns and led the Eagles to a comeback win. His next matchup against the Raiders should not scare you at all as the Raiders have one of the worst defenses in the league. Foles is an easy pick-up for those in streaming need, and he is currently only owned in 45.3% of leagues.

Joe Flacco has at best been an average quarterback this season in fantasy. He has not had any blow out games but has had a couple solid starts. His matchup in week 16 is just that. The Colts are a struggling team this season and Joe Flacco should be able to give you a 250 passing yard performance with 2 touchdowns for this in streaming need (See Brock Osweiler in week 15).

Running Back

  1. Kerwynn  Williams

  2. Mike Davis

  3. Aaron Jones

Williams has a quad injury to keep track of but he is an RB3/flex play this week. He’ll lose some touches but he has maintained the starting role and averaged about 18 touches a game. This is not that great of an offense so that limits Williams but his matchup against the Giants in a good one for those in need.

A bad week should see a lot of Mike Davis owners kick him to the curb. One owner’s loss is another owner’s opportunity. Davis lost a lot of workload due to the Seahawks getting absolutely blown out but will bounce back and be the main back in a must-win game against the Cowboys in week 16.

The Aaron Jones add is a risky one. He is still recovering from an injury but saw his highest play time in week 15 since the injury sidelined him. His stats were not great but if you watch the film you can tell Aaron Jones just has something when he runs the ball that Jamaal Williams doesn’t. This backfield will most likely look like a committee backfield in week 16 but that does mean an increase in Jones’ value.

Wide Receiver

  1. JuJu Smith-Schuster

  2. Robert Woods

  3. Dede Westbrook

JuJu had himself another blow-up game against the Patriots in what was a crushing loss. One of the main takeaways is the loss of Antonio Brown. Brown should be out the rest of the season and that leaves Smith-Schuster with WR2 value for the rest of the season and a good waiver wire add for your fantasy Super Bowl. He is currently owned in 76% of leagues, leaving the slight chance that he may still be available for you.

After dealing with an injury for three weeks, Robert Woods came back to help the Rams absolutely destroy the Seahawks. His 6-45-1 stat line is not spectacular but it is solid in fantasy. He maintains WR2 value in week 16 and his ceiling is high with his offense playing lights out this season. Woods is currently owned in 67% of leagues across the ESPN platform.

While Keelan Cole was the Jaguar that stole the show, Westbrook comes into week 16 as the number one wide receiver for the Jaguars. Now we have already talked about how well Blake Bortles is playing this month, and if that continues, it makes this an even better waiver wire pick up. Westbrook has played well this season and has a nice matchup against the 49ers. Westbrook is a WR2 for your fantasy semifinals/finals this week.
