The USC Trojans were in need of defensive line starters and depth even before Isaiah Raikes decided to enter the transfer portal, which opened Tuesday, April 16th.

So now Lincoln Riley and defensive line coach Eric Henderson must dip into the portal to find capable defensive line play for the 2024 season. Luckily there are several top names to choose from.

CJ West, 6’2″ 315 lbs, Kent State

The top defensive lineman in the MAC last season looks to make the jump to the big stage. The three-year starter racked up 14 pressures, 37 tackles, 27 run stops, two sacks, and a forced fumble in 12 games in 2023

After earning significant reps in his first two seasons, Chazz Wallace saw his playing time slashed under new defensive coordinator, Charles Kelly. Wallace has proven to be an excellent run-stopper and capable of generating pressure in the passing game.

Trey Bixby, 6’4″ 250 lbs, Minnesota

This former 4-star recruit from Eden Prairie red-shirted as a freshman and then was medically retired in 2023 due to an autoimmune disorder. But as of this Tuesday morning, Bixby claims to be in the best shape of his life and looking for a new home.

TJ Bollers, 6’2″ 290, Wisconsin

After two seasons of struggling to get on the field at Wisconsin Bollers seeks a new home. The former 4-star recruit was ranked the second-best defensive lineman in the country coming out of high school.
