USC Trojans Player Named Jet Award 2023 Semifinalist

Three exceptional Finalists for the prestigious 2023 Jet Award have been revealed: Zachariah Branch from the USC Trojans, Jacob De Jesus from UNLV, and Jayden Harrison from Marshall. These outstanding individuals were officially announced on Monday by The Jet Award Foundation.

The renowned Jet Award, bestowed annually, recognizes the nation’s most exceptional return specialist in college football. The finalists were carefully chosen by a distinguished media panel composed of members from the esteemed Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).

The highly anticipated winner of the 2023 Jet Award will be unveiled in January. The presentation will take place at The Jet Award Gala, scheduled for April 4, 2024, in Omaha, Nebraska. It is important to note that all proceeds from the Gala will contribute towards the Johnny Rodgers Career and Technical Scholarship, which supports students pursuing vocational degrees at Metropolitan Community College.

Established in 2011, the Jet Award has not only become a symbol of excellence but has also made a significant impact on the lives of students. Since 2018, it has raised funds for over 200 scholarships, supporting individuals pursuing their dreams through the Johnny Rodgers Career and Technical Scholarship.

Zachariah Branch, WR, USC

The Trojan freshman phenom left a profound impact on the football field, finishing the regular season as the nation’s second-leading player in combined kick return yards. With a remarkable ability to excel in both kickoff and punt returns, Branch secured touchdowns in both categories. Additionally, he led the nation in punt return average. A true force to be reckoned with!

Aside from his special teams prowess, Branch will look to be much more involved in the offense in the 2024 season.

Jacob De Jesus, WR, UNLV

De Jesus captivated the nation as the leading player in combined kick return yards. Throughout the regular season, he amassed an impressive total of 1,019 return yards. Notably, De Jesus also ranked third in punt return average. His tremendous skill and contribution to the game have not gone unnoticed.

Jayden Harrison, WR, Marshall

Harrison showcased his exceptional talent by leading the nation in kickoff return average, delivering two electrifying touchdowns. With an average of 32 yards per return over 12 games, he left spectators in awe. Harrison is undoubtedly a force on the field.
