USC Trojans Head Coach Lincoln Riley Visits Transfer Portal QB

After making his defensive coordinator hire official on Friday, USC Trojans Head Coach Lincoln Riley has been busy attempting to build out his future roster.

It was reported on Saturday that Riley was in Manhattan, Kansas visiting former Kansas State quarterback, Will Howard, who had just recently entered the transfer portal.

Howard is a former 3-star prospect who is now considered a 4-star transfer and the current 3rd highest-rated QB in the transfer portal, per 247Sports (former Washington State QB Cam Ward is ranked 2, and former UCLA QB Dante Moore is ranked 1).

Howard is 6’5 242 pounds, and led the Kansas State Wildcats to a 8-4 record this season. He finished the year with 2,643 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

The USC Trojans have Miller Moss and Malachi Nelson currently on the roster in the QB room, but it is almost guaranteed that Lincoln Riley will add one quarterback to the room via the transfer portal. Howard would be a great addition as a player with four years of playing experience. The fact that Coach Riley flew out to personally meet with Howard demonstrates how highly he must think of him.
