The USC Trojans are on a heater. After it was just announced that they flipped five-star defensive lineman, and Georgia Commit, Justus Terry, Lincoln Riley secured a commitment from another massive talent on the defensive front.

After hiring an elite defensive staff this offseason, the future of the program is really starting to take shape, and the recruiting efforts are paying dividends. This weekend was another big weekend for top player visits. So big that the GOAT, newly retired Aaron Donald, paid a visit to campus. Quite the recruiting tactic.

It paid off as the number one EDGE recruit in the 2025 class, Isaiah Gibson, announced that is committing to USC Football.

USC Trojans Secure Commitment From 2025’s Top Edge Recruit

The Georgia native chose USC over Georgia, Oklahoma, and Oregon, and is a Top 25 overall recruit, per On3.com.

“The opportunities on and off the field are too much to pass up on.”

This is a huge victory for USC, not just because they are adding an elite player to the roster, but because this is the 2nd player on the same day that they lured from SEC country. Having a California pipeline is important for USC, but being able to recruit nationally, especially in SEC country is how the program will become a force once again.

The addition of Coach Henderson and retaining Coach Nua have proven to be impeccable moves that are already reaping early rewards.

We had Coach Henny on the Salute To Troy podcast last month, and he spoke about his passion for recruiting, building, and developing young men. In a very short time, he is proving that those words will not ring hollow.

The USC Trojans 2025 recruiting class now ranks 3rd in the On3 team rankings…with only 3 commits. Gibson joins the aforementioned Terry, along with generational QB Julian ‘Juju” Lewis. All three players are ironically from the state of Georgia.
