A top priority of USC Football’s 2024 offseason was to right the defensive ship. The fastest way to do that is to nab great defenders from the transfer portal. The Trojans got good news on that front as they have emerged as one of two final candidates for Michigan State transfer defensive line Derrick Harmon.

According to Pete Nakos of On3,  “USC and Colorado have come up a lot in conversations in the last 24 hours.” He also noted that the Miami Hurricanes weren’t in the running, but he did visit with Oregon and Ohio State during the winter portal term.

Harmon is currently one of two 4-Star defensive linemen available in the portal, the other is Damonic Williams from TCU.

The 6’5″ 320 defensive tackle racked up 20 quarterback pressures and 21 run stops last season. He would make an excellent complement to Bear Alexander and a huge step in the right direction in fixing the defense.
