They are currently eyeing Butler Benton, who is currently Assistant Athletic Director for Notre Dame, to take over duties as general manager. according to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports. In college, GMs often act as overseer on all aspects of recruiting, manage the department budget, and advise on recruiting and personnel matters.

Benton has helped recruit 28 players who went on to join NFL rosters.

UCLA Football Looks To Add Butler Benton As GM


Butler Benton stepped into the role of Assistant Athletic Director for Player Personnel at Notre Dame Athletics in April 2023, tasked with overseeing roster management, player evaluation, and recruitment efforts.

Benton served as the General Manager for the University of Arkansas football team for two seasons. During his tenure, the Razorbacks achieved a 16-10 record, and secured two bowl victories.

Benton gained experience at various institutions, including Georgia Southern and Michigan State. At Georgia Southern, he served as the Director of Player Personnel, where he focused on recruiting and fostering relationships with high schools.

He was a four-year letterwinner running back at Cincinnati playing for Brian Kelly. Benton earned degrees in business administration and finance from Cincinnati and a master’s in sport and recreation management from Kent State.
