There is so much conversation swirling around this UCLA Bruins team, and most of it is negative. Fans are very displeased that Chip Kelly is returning as the head coach. 5-star QB Dante Moore took his NIL money and hit the transfer portal. Superstar defensive coordinator, D’Anton Lynn, is now the DC across town at USC.
However, the season is not officially over yet as UCLA has a bowl game to play and it was just announced today that the Bruins will play in the LA Bowl.
Boise State fired their coach mid-season and then miraculously went on to win the Mountain West Conference. They will be very excited to come to Los Angeles and show off their skills at SoFi Stadium. It will be a very different feeling for this UCLA Bruins squad.
After an inexcusable loss to Arizona State, most thought, and it was even reported, that Chip Kelly would be let go. UCLA went on to dominate USC the following week in the Victory Bell game. That seemed to be enough to save his job even with an embarrassing season finale against Cal at home.
It will be interesting to see how many of the Bruin faithful will attend the game. SoFi Stadium is actually 13 miles closer to UCLA’s campus than the Rose Bowl is, but fans have been threatening to boycott the program in droves.
Kickoff between the UCLA Bruins and the Boise State Broncos will take place on Saturday, December 16th at 4:30 PM PT on ABC.
