UCLA Bruins Land Dynamic Georgia Tech DB Through Transfer Portal

Former Georgia Tech redshirt junior DB, K.J. Wallace has committed to play for the UCLA Bruins for the 2024 season. The Bruins have lost three defensive backs to the transfer portal so far this offseason, including two to intra-LA rival USC Trojans. Wallace is the second defensive back they have picked up through the portal.

In Wallace, the Bruins gain a battle tested SEC DB and one of the better nickle corners in college football.

Wallace was a four star recruit and 19th ranked cornerback coming out of Lovett High School in Atlanta, GA. He started his college career with Notre Dame, seeing action in four games as a true freshman in 2019. He joined the Yellow Jackets in 2022.

During the 2023 season, the 5’10 185 lbs defender recorded 42 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss, 1.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception and eight passes defended.

So far in his career Wallace racked up 93 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, 2.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, two interceptions and 10 passes defended.

Wallace will look to replace Alex Johnson, as well as Kamari Ramsey, who transfered to USC, as the UCLA Bruins slot corner
