USC Football Scores Another Defensive Commitment, Building Impressive 2025 Class

USC Football‘s secondary coach, Doug Belk notched another recruit into his belt Tuesday morning as cornerback Trestin Castro became the latest defender to join the Trojans.

Castro becomes the second defensive back commit for Doug Belk, alongside four-star Jacksonville (Fla.) safety Hylton Stubbs. He’s USC’s eighth commitment in the 2025 class, joining standouts like five-star Georgia QB Julian Lewis, five-star Georgia DL Justus Terry, and others from Georgia and Texas. With Castro on board, USC’s 2025 class now ranks 7th in the nation.

The 6-foot-1, 160-pound Upland, California native had offers from several teams including several formerly Pac-12 schools, Cal, Washington, and Utah as well as Minnesota. He is the 31st-ranked cornerback from California in his class.

At Upland High School, he has 99 tackles, 12 interceptions, and 19 passes defended in 25 games. He also played wide receiver. In 11 games as a junior, he caught 25 passes for 472 yards and seven touchdowns.
