The matchup between the Seahawks and Cowboys could be a major turning point for both teams. The Seahawks are 0-2 going into week three and the Cowboys are 1-1 but still have yet to find their footing on the offensive side. Both teams are going to want to get out to a quick start. There will be some key matchups that will decide this game involving both teams’ struggling offenses.

Three Key Matchups: Cowboys vs. Seahawks

Russell Wilson vs. Cowboys Secondary

While the Cowboys do not have elite talent in their secondary, they do have a coach that is familiar with Wilson’s tendencies. Kris Richard is the Cowboys current defensive backs coach. Last season, Richard held the same position in the Emerald City. Richard will be able to identify plays for the Cowboys, which could lead to turnovers for Wilson. The Seahawks are currently sitting at a 0-2 record, and Wilson is desperate for a win. That could mean good things for the Cowboys.

Seahawks O-Line vs. Cowboys Front Seven

The Seahawks once again have a below average offensive line. Wilson has been running for his life over the first two games of the season and he might have another game of doing just that. The Cowboys front seven has had some success so far and they have some players that can get to the quarterback. Demarcus Lawrence is the Cowboys best pass rusher and the chances of the Seahawks O-Line containing him all game is not high. Taco Charlton is emerging as one of the Cowboys better defenders and could be another reason why Wilson could be out of the pocket more than he would like.

Bobby Wagner vs. Ezekiel Elliott

Elliott is one of the best running backs in the NFL. So far this season, he hasn’t been able to crack a 100-yards in a game but many believe this is the game he pulls it off. But, the Seahawks are hoping they can contain him and they are enlisting Wagner to do just that. Wagner is one of the best inside linebackers in the league and is also good in coverage. If Wagner can spy on Elliott and defend him while he’s out in space, it could prove to be successful for the Seahawks.
