WWE superstar Dean Ambrose will be leaving WWE when his contract expires at the end of April, according to a report by PW Torch’s Wade Keller.

Ambrose debuted on the main roster in 2012 as a member of The Shield, alongside Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Ambrose won the United States Championship in May 2013, holding on to the championship until February 2014.

After The Shield disbanded in June 2014, Ambrose went on to win the Intercontinental Championship by the end of the year. On June 19, 2016, Ambrose won the Money In The Bank Ladder Match then successfully cashed it in on his former friend Rollins to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Ambrose would hold the title for three months before losing it to AJ Styles.

Ambrose and Rollins reunited in the summer of 2017, winning the Raw Tag Team Championships. A torn biceps injury sidelined the Lunatic Fringe for the first half of 2018, though. Upon his return, Ambrose and Rollins joined Reigns in re-forming The Shield.

On the Oct. 22, 2018 edition of Raw, though, Reigns announced he had leukemia and relinquished the Universal Championship. Later that night, Ambrose and Rollins became two-time tag team champions, only for Ambrose to turn on Rollins during the post-match celebration. This led to a feud between the two that saw both men exchange runs as Intercontinental Champion.

Ambrose lost to Rollins on Raw last week. There’s no immediate storyline Ambrose is in currently, which many believe could lead to Ambrose leaving sooner rather than later.
