Between the East-West Shrine Bowl and the Senior Bowl, the NFL Draft rumors get wild and flow without cause. This year is no different with a QB-heavy draft class and plenty of quarterback-needy teams.

USC Trojans phenom, Caleb Williams, is this year’s top QB and presumably the unanimous number-one overall pick. Trojans fans are waiting to see where he lands, and most likely, whatever team that does will gain quite a few USC supporters.

NFL Insider, Tony Pauline, has just revealed that based on conversations he had during East-West Shrine practices, the Denver Broncos and Sean Payton are interested in potentially moving up in the draft to secure one of the top 3 quarterbacks, most notably Caleb Williams.

Could USC Trojans QB Caleb Williams End Up In With Denver Broncos?

From Pauline’s report:

“Payton wants one of the top passers – Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, or Jayden Daniels. I spoke at length about this with several people including longtime Denver Broncos insider Cecil Lammey, a radio and television personality from the city as well as a writer at DenverSports.com.”

“I was able to confirm the Broncos are interested in moving up for their quarterback of the future yet such a move would come at an enormous cost and it’s very unlikely to happen.”

The Broncos currently sit at the 12th pick and do not have a 2nd-rounder due to trading for Sean Payton. All three teams currently in the top 3 spots all need a quarterback so it will take a king’s ransom to move up.

But if this did happen, Caleb Williams in a Broncos uniform is a very interesting proposition. The organization has new ownership and is willing to do whatever it takes to bring winning back to Denver. They also finally have some stability with the hiring of Payton who is entering his 2nd season.

As the roster stands, Williams would inherit some talented pass catchers in Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick (coming back from injury), and Marvin Mims.
