One of the nearly dozen Michigan players available in this year’s NFL Draft believes new Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh will draft a shocking amount of his former players in next week’s event.

This is going to be an important draft for the Chargers franchise. Not only because it is the first for Harbaugh and new general manager Joe Hortiz but because there is pressure on the organization to build a winning roster around franchise quarterback Justin Herbert.

  • Los Angeles Chargers draft picks in 2024: No. 5, No. 37, No. 69, No. 105, No. 110, No. 140, No. 181, No. 225, No. 253

Fortunately, LA has nine picks this year, which gives them a chance to add depth to a roster that finished 5-12 last year, and hopefully find some diamonds that can sparkle in SoFi Stadium for the next decade.

Our latest Los Angeles Chargers Mock Draft predicts the Bolts could target players like Oregon State’s Taliese Fuaga and LSU star receiver Malik Nabers. However, Michigan Wolverines wide receiver Roman Wilson expects the coach who took him and his teammates to a National Championship in January will end up putting many of those same players in a Chargers uniform this month.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if like all nine of us end up going,” Wilson told Fox Sports. “But seriously, like at least five or six. I think he’s going to take a lot of us.”

Five Michigan players, including starting quarterback JJ McCarthy are among the top 100 prospects on many draft boards heading into next week’s event.
