The Los Angeles Rams could be the biggest beneficiary of the Minnesota Vikings signing of Jonathan Greenard. Greenard was signed not long after free agency opened up on Monday morning.

This signals that the Vikings are ready to move on from Danielle Hunter. They attempted to trade the 29-year-old edge rusher at last year’s trade deadline. The Rams were among the teams rumored to be in talks to acquire Hunter.

The Rams are currently $29 million under the cap, so he is affordable to them although he won’t be cheap Hunter’s projected contract is somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 years — $22.5m avg/yr with $47.5m guaranteed, $67.5m total.

Pass rusher is still the Rams’ top priority this offseason. They were 25th in pass rush percentage last season. Hunter accounted for 41 pressures (11 more than Aaron Donald) and 16.5 sacks.
