Los Angeles Rams Head Coach 4th Best According To New NFLPA Report Card

Los Angeles Rams Head Coach, Sean McVay has been lauded as one of the league’s best coaches. He has one of the best winning percentages among active head coaches and has been at the forefront of offensive play design since coming into the league.

Now he can add high marks from NFL players to his trophy shelf, which includes a Lombardi. The NFLPA’s Player Report Card gave Coach McVay an “A” for his efforts in 2023. This is the first year that the PA has included head coaches in their franchise evaluations.

Feedback included, 96 percent of players feel Sean McVay is efficient with their time (8th overall)
and players feel that Sean McVay is very willing to listen to the locker room (8th overall).

McVay Looking Good, Los Angeles Rams Not So Much

McVay’s grade was one of a few bright spots for the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams placed 20th overall. The Rams ranked in the bottom ten teams in the league in seven of the 11 criteria. Although they ranked in the top 10 in Strength Coaches and Team Travel.

According to the NFLPA website, the survey was administered from Aug 25 to Nov. 16, 2023. A total of 1706 players completed the survey this year. Answers were collected anonymously, and players evaluated their current workplace.

McVay was graded as the 4th best among coaches. He and eight other coaches received an “A.” Those coaches are Sean McDermott, Zac Taylor, Mike McCarthy, Mike McDaniel, Nick Sirianni, Mike Tomlin, Kyle Shanahan, and now retired Pete Carroll.

The coaches given an A-plus are Andy Reid, Kevin O’Connell, and Dan Campbell
