Free agency grades and power rankings are fine, but the rubber meets the road when money is on the line. Vegas odds makers have adjusted their betting lines in the wake of the franchise-wide changes that were made by the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency.

The Chargers kicked off the official offseason at +2500 (Bet $10 get $250), which was tied for the 10th-highest odds. They were tied with the Green Bay Packers and Houston Texans.

In the wake of free agency, the sportsbooks have adjusted those odds. FanDuel and BetOnline have dropped their odds to +4000. BetMGM, DraftKings, and Sharp Football Analysis moved them down to +3000.

Other teams given the same odds are the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons, and Los Angeles Rams. While it keeps the Chargers in the playoff conversation they are solidly considered longshots at these odds.

Tealeaves of Vegas Sportsbooks

Vegas moves when things change. Plenty changed for the Chargers. Losing the top three offensive producers on your team will never give you a better shot to win the Super Bowl in the eyes of oddsmakers. But considering that, the bottom hasn’t dropped out. For example, the Vikings went from +4000 to +8000 after losing Kirk Cousins and Danielle Hunter.
