Kyren Williams Will Be Difference Maker In Rams Vs Cardinals Week 12 Bout

Kyren Williams and Los Angeles Rams fans around the world have plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. On the part of Williams, he is back to full health and is set to play in his first game since October 15th. Rams fans, of course, have reason to celebrate remaining alive in the playoff hunt and avoiding a loss to the Seattle Seahawks. However, the goal is to get back to .500 and there’s still a win streak to make.

In order to do so, the team needs to win against the newly revitalized Arizona Cardinals who now have Kyler Murray back in the fold. However, with Cooper Kupp‘s injury now a factor (it was announced on Friday that he will play), it falls on the returning running back to hit the ground at full speed. History gives Williams great odds of this happening.

Williams’ final opponent before missing the last month was the Arizona Cardinals. In that game, he piled up the biggest stat line of his entire career via 20 carries for 158 yards and a touchdown. He’s going to need another similar level of production to boost the Rams’ offense as the team deals with Kupp’s injury.

The hope was that Kupp, Puka Nacua, Williams, and Matthew Stafford could all be back to full health for the game. Instead, the team will need to win with a limp as Nacua and Kupp are both not 100%.

The easiest way to do that is to lean on the running game to keep it short and minimize the chances of creating additional plays and injury opportunities. Not only do the Rams need to win the game, but they need to do so at full health. With a win against the Cardinals, the team would suddenly be only one game below .500 and back in the thick of the playoff race near the top of the playoff hunt.

As it stands, the Rams are currently in ninth place in the NFC playoff picture but still remain behind the 6-5 Vikings and the 6-5 Seahawks. That said, the Rams have the tie-breaker against the Seahawks but will need to get even with them for the tie-breaker to take effect.

The team has their work cut out for them. To avoid a critical seventh loss, it will fall on Kyren Williams to come in like a relief pitcher and dominate. Will the Rams extend their season one more week with a second win in as many weeks against an NFC West rival?
