Los Angeles Chargers Wide Receiver, Keenan Allen Sets NFL Record With 900th Reception

In the third quarter of the Los Angeles Chargers against the Denver Broncos Keenan Allen caught the 900th reception of his career. He did so in 139 games. That makes Keenan Allen the player to reach that mark the fastest. The next fastest was Antonio Brown. He reached 900 catches in 143 games.

The former third-round draft choice caught his first pass in Week 2 of his rookie season in the third quarter and went for 18 yards. His biggest game in terms of receptions came this season. Allen caught 18 passes against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3. That is one of 20 game in which he caught 10 or more passes.

Keenan Allen was held catch-less only once in his career. That came in 2018 in Week 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Keenan Allen Isn’t Slowing Down

Allen is on pace to have the best production of his long career. Coming into the Broncos game, Allen had 102 catches and 1175 yards. His current season highs are 106 catches in 2021 and 1393. He has five games to surpass those numbers.

Allen currently has the 26th most catches of all time and is third among active players. He is only a few catches behind Julio Jones who is the active leader with 908 catches. Travis Kelce is the closest player behind him with 888 catches. But the 900 club leader won’t be dethroned by Kelce; he has already played 155 games. In fact, no active player is on pace to surpass this mark.
